Style Spotlight

This is my first style spotlight and I chose to do it on my friend Keziah! :)

Keziah is a beautiful and intelligent young woman with an amazing style to match! She is always on top of the trends but she always manages to stay true to her style, which I'd describe as bold yet girly!

Check out these photos of Keziah and get inspired by her style!

She's Got Curves In All the Right Places...

Check out this beauty by Giuseppe Zanotti.

Celebrity Style Star of the Week

Say what you want about Teyana Taylor's face or talents but you cannot deny that she has an amazing body && a unique style that really fits her look.

While I disagreed with her comments about making baggy pants && sneakers cool (TLC or Aaliyah anyone?), I can definitely agree with the fact that she her style works for her. She looks good in sneakers or heels.

Check out some photos of her. (All photos provided by Teyana Taylor's personal Instagram.)

Trend Watch: Sneaker Wedges

Sneaker wedges. They are the Chris Brown of shoes. You either love them or you hate them.

I saw sneaker wedges for the first time when Beyonce debuted Isabel Marant's sneaker wedges in her Love on Top video. I thought they were cute but I was instantly a little iffy on how you could transfer them to every day wear.

I think sneaker wedges are cute, and I have seen a few regular girls rock them and look good. Honestly, I've seen more misses than hits when it comes to these though.

You can find an attractive pair of sneaker wedges almost anywhere, for my fashionistas on a budget.

Miranda Kerr.

Rashida Jones.

And last, but certainly not least, Beyonce!

A Star Studded Halloween

Halloween is this Wednesday (blah.), so many people, celebrities included decided to celebrate Halloween this Saturday.

My Instagram news feed && Twitter timeline were packed with people, famous and non-famous, showing off their Halloween costumes. Some were great, some were tasteful, some were cheesy, and some were downright sleazy.

Enjoy this post dedicated to some of the best and WORST celebrity costumes I've seen so far.

Cassie and Diddy as Cleopatra and Prince Jr. I loved these costumes especially Diddy's. I thought his was so creative especially since Prince doesn't have a son lol.

Lala was a cat and Kim Kardashian was...Brooke Hogan? Just kidding lol, she was a mermaid. Her wig makes me sad. :/

Draya is a beautiful girl with the body to match and so I really enjoyed her bride costume.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were a sailor and a mermaid. I'm pretty sure Kanye West dresses in a similiar manner every day, and Kim Kardashian's wig was God awful, so I was not impressed with these costumes. Sorry.

Fall Fashion: Instagram Edition

Check out some fall fashion from my IG followers.

Then get inspired.

Keep It Simple

5, 6, Grab Your Crucifix...

These nail rings made me think of Freddy Krueger. Maybe it's how long they are or maybe it's the fact that I'm drunk with Halloween spirit, those horror movie marathons have been occupying most of my free time lol.

Either way this is seriously sexy && alluring. I don't think I've seen anyone daring enough to wear nail rings on every finger.

Are you bold && stylish enough to pull it off?

For My Followers/Readers...

...that are still enjoying warm weather. These shoes are beautiful. They make me want warm weather again just so I can wear them. Forget all the clothes that have been sitting in my closet unworn since last fall/winter.

Song of the Day

Today's song of the day is Rihanna's Watch N Learn. I heard this song while I was shopping at Perimeter Mall and I instantly fell in love with it.

Enjoy. :)

Halloween Mixer

If you currently work or want to work in the fashion industry then make sure you come out to PrimetimeX magazine's Halloween Mixer at Havana Club, on of course, Wednesday October 31. It starts at 8 PM.

So make sure that you come out in your best costume with tons of business cards!

What I Wore...A Snippet

Saturday I styled && creative directed a shoot for PrimetimeX magazine. It's finally starting to feel like Fall so I wanted a stylish outfit that would keep my warm.

I pulled on a white tank top, black jeans, forest green boots, a leather jacket, a cream scarf && I accented my outfit with a dark plum lip, several rings all stacked on top of each other && my two-finger cross ring.

A Shoot

So I teamed up with PrimetimeX magazine for a shoot on Saturday.

The shoot was six hours long && the models modeled costumes as well as regular clothing. I was there to keep costumes covering flaws && to of course style the models when it came time for them to model street clothing.

Despite the long shoot due to my lack of sleep && also being ill, I enjoyed myself && can't wait to continue working with PrimetimeX on their upcoming shoots, mixers && fashion shows.

RIP Natina Reed

On October 26, 2012 Natina Reed of the group Blaque was hit by an automobile as she attempted to cross an Atlanta street. She died in the early morning hours of October 27. She would have been 33 today.

Natina Reed was a protege of the late rapper Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes who ironically died in a car accident in Honduras in 2002. Blaque was named the 4th Best New Artist by Billboard in 1999. In 2000, she starred in the movie Bring It On, alongside her other group members, Gabrielle Union and Kirsten Dunst. She also had a 10-year-old son from a relationship with rapper Kurupt.

The two surviving members of Blaque confirmed that they were working on new material at the time of Reed's death. R.I.P. to Natina Reed and in honor of her untimely death listen to some of Blaque's biggest hits.

Song of the Day

Kendrick Lamar featuring Drake- Poetic Justice

I haven't been this excited for an album since I heard Bey was releasing, 4, last year. I've been waiting so patiently && finally the time has come, Kendrick will drop his album tomorrow. I heard that it had leaked but I didn't rush to find a link like everyone else. However, while hanging with friends yesterday, somebody played this song and I instantly fell in love with it.

So enjoy this track. :)

It's So Important

"Dedicate yourself to the good you deserve && desire for yourself. Give yourself peace of mind. You deserve to be happy. You deserve delight." - Hannah Arendt

The older I get the more I realize how important it is to be in touch with yourself, to take those few moments to yourself to reflect on how you feel, what's bothering you etc. I appreciate the little things so much more && I'm learning how to let things AND people go that no longer make me happy, or in other words, take away from my peace of mind.

Today I decided to go on a Twitter break. Twitter has become nothing but a bunch of bitter people crying about their failed relationships, how their life sucks, and I felt like that negativity was starting to affect me. So I deleted my Twitter app && immediately after I felt so free, like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.

I don't know how long I will be taking a break from Twitter but I know that I'll be dedicating that time to growing as a person, making sure I get a 4.0 this semester, working on my brand and business, and basically just being productive.

Another One

So I got another tattoo. :D

This one is on the inside of my upper right arm. It's in Arabic && it means, "All praise be to the most high."

Art

Lately I've grown a serious passion for urban art. I've always been interested in art. It inspires me, it gives me ideas for designs, styling gigs && even on the items I'll sell in my online boutique. But for some reason urban art, has had a hold on my heart lately. I've been paying special attention to graffiti && murals on freeway overpasses && anywhere else I can find them.

Art inspires me. What inspires you?

P.S. some of the pieces below are the work of Chris Brown (yes the singer) :p

Trend Watch: Glow In the Dark Nail Polish

So the nail trends just haven't stopped coming! This year we've seen crackle, magnetic, matte and now glow in the dark nail polish!

I think this is an easy trend to pull of. There's a color for everyone and to keep the look from looking cheesy or unchic, make sure you keep your nails relatively short.
