A Night Off

I've been working like crazy lately, as I type this, I'm at work lol. I rarely ever have off days. When I found out about Empire of the Sun (one of the greatest bands of all time IMO) coming to Atlanta to perform, I was ecstatic. Somehow, despite forgetting to request that Wednesday off, I managed to receive it off anyway. I bought my outfit from my job and the next day I was off and ready to go. I was lifted and sipping on Henn, but I maintined my composure and ended up having an awesome night.

You know it's going to be a great night when you see me smiling lol. I never smile!

My outfit: wearing a lace shirt with nothing under it made me a tad bit uncomfortable so I put my jacket on before we reached the venue.

Posing after the show.

Me & Kiera during a break in the show. Can you tell what we did before lol? ;)

Empire of the Sun performing Half Mast.  Luke even went into the crowd and let a girl sing the lyrics. Lucky bitch.

Check out my video interview with Shanika Simmons of Broke2Dope.com! We had a lot of fun filming and I'm glad that Shanika even considered me for this opportunity. I'm definitely not where I was last year and I can only go up from here. Let's work.

Pop Art

I had a video interview with Shanika of the blog Broke2Dope yesterday. I found Shanika's blog while looking up information about someone that was participating in a fashion event that I was having last summer and instantly loved her straight to the point and informative style of writing. When she decided that she wanted to interview me, I was beyond excited! I got to talk about working as a wardrobe stylist and show off a few pieces from The RAD! Shop! :)

Since I was going to be in Little Five Points, I wanted a stylish yet effortless outfit. I chose a plain white tee that I tied a knot in, a bright wrap skirt, and my favorite brown gladiator sandals. I accessorized with a gold chain necklace, gold cross earrings, and a stack of bracelets that I coordinated to match my watch.

The Lyftd Lyfe Fashion Show

I think life is all about the journey, about setting goals for yourself and taking the steps to achieve those goals. Well, last summer after The Goods Lyfe fashion show, I said that I would be working backstage/ styling at this year's fashion show. After exchanging a few e-mails with one of the coordinators behind the show, I was told that I would be able to work backstage!

I mainly worked on The Good's Clo's set. I had tons of fun but it was definitely a lot of pressure. I got to style in some pieces from The RAD! Shop and some of my friends came out to support which is always great!

I have already set a new goal for next year's fashion show! I'll definitely keep you guys posted on whether or not I achieve it.

The story behind my outfit that night is funny. I had originally selected a cut-out dress to wear but I felt like it was a little too revealing for the fashion show. After one of my guy friends confirmed my suspicions with a round of good-natured, very explicit but still funny jokes, I decided to change. The problem was, I wasn't home and didn't have time to go home. So I ran to my trunk (which due to my photo shoots always has clothing and/or shoes in it) and selected this black jumpsuit. I put on tons of bracelets and cuffs to jazz up my left arm, pulled stacks of rings on my right hand and added a belt and this ended up looking like the outfit I had intended to wear all along. A last minute outfit that gets you tons of compliments? We have a winner!

An Old Favorite...

Back in 2011, I had just moved back to Atlanta from Auburn, Alabama. In Auburn there was one rinky dink mall and I didn't drive that year so if I wanted to shop, I was relegated to online shopping. Needless to say when I moved back to the city, I made up for lost time when it came to shopping. My favorite stores were Forever 21, American Apparel, Value Village, and of course, Urban Outfitters.

I got this fedora at Urban on sale for $5 and I constantly found different ways to work it into my outfits. Somewhere along the line, I gradually stopped wearing my fedora until I wasn't wearing it at all. When I left my apartment in Marietta to move back into my mom's house, it was relegated to the back of one of my closets.

I had an interview on Thursday and I got to dress up how I would dress if I were to be hired and for some reason when I walked past my second closet, I just really wanted to wear my fedora. I paired a simple black v-neck with a black and white tropical print skirt, bright blue open-toe flats, a silver multi-chain necklace and my MK watch. My fedora which had not been worn in about a year, was the icing on top of this simple yet chic outfit.

I think my love affair with my fedora has been rekindled. I'm thinking of ways to pair my fedora with other outfits as I type. :)

In the Mix

Today I handled business for The RAD Shop, school, and had drinks and lunch with a friend.

I had dying to wear these paisley print shorts and mix them with another print and today I got to do just that. I paired my outfit with strappy single sole sandals and my favorite almost cat-eye but not quite sunglasses and I was off!

The Little Skater Girl

Yesterday was the celebration for my friend D'Mani's 21st birthday! A bunch of us gathered at the Embassy Suites by Perimeter Mall and had a great time.

I was entirely too excited to wear the dress I had bought from American Apparel earlier this year. The full skirt makes me feel mine a ballerina or an ice skater. I paired the dress with a pair of nude strappy single sole sandals, a few pieces of gold jewelry, and a dark plum lip.

Serving Neutrals With A Splash of Neon

I love neutral colors. Don't ask me why but since I was able to dress myself and/or buy my clothes I've always gravitated towards neutral colors.

However, I've been pushing myself out of my comfort zone lately and buying shoes, bags and dresses in bright colors. I guess, I just really got into the spring fever moment lol.

I was going out with a group of friends for drinks and dinner and I wanted an outfit that was simple and chic. I loved the shape of the slouchy tee, and the neon single sole sandals and clutch made an otherwise tame outfit really pop.

Unfadeable, so please don't try to fade this...

I've really been feeling that 90's Westside music lately (as evidenced by my post title lol) and I'm currently planning a BBQ for my friends at which only 90s music is played.

Back to my outfit, work has been taking up a lot of time and when I get off, I'm either too tired to go out or it's too late. So when I finally had two consecutive off days, I got dressed to head to the hookah bar with a friend.

I chose a neutral outfit with a soft pop of color.

Fitting Room Chronicles

On Saturday, I headed out to run a few errands. My work schedule and the boutique have been keeping me so busy that I'm I rarely have time to go out anywhere much less get dressed up.

So when I realized that I was in desperate need of groceries and tired of opening up the refrigerator every 15 minutes like food would magically appear, I chose this ensemble.

Sheer long sleeve shirt, leather/mesh leggings, and an ankle strap wedge. I added a few simple pieces of jewelry and then I was on my way.

Luxurious

I was invited to a club for a friend's birthday and was instantly overcome with excitement! It was the PERFECT opportunity to wear my fur jacket! I pulled on a pair of patterned tights, a black sleeveless turtleneck dress and suede/leather wedges. My fur jacket, simple eyeliner, and black lipstick were the perfect complements to my aforementioned items.

I had a great time and revived tons of compliments!

In the Heart Of the City...

Last weekend, a couple of my girls and I decided to head into the city and have some fun. I was dying to wear fur but I wasn't sure that my fur jacket would be appropriate for what we had planned.

For once, I actually remembered the pieces I had in my closet and realized that I had a fur infinity scarf that I had gotten from UO in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Wrapping it around my neck was not only uncomfortable but it threw my outfit off so in a burst of inspiration, I slid it on over my arms as a "shrug". I paired my denim button down and "fur shrug" with leather leggings and suede platform booties (I love to mix patterns and textures!). A few bracelets, rings and a air of hoop earrings completed the look.

Look In the Mirror...

I hate posting mirror pictures on my blog but I loved this outfit too much to not post it on here. It was simple yet cute.

Saturday was the celebration for one of my friend's birthday and with her having everyone over, I wanted to make sure I looked as good as possible.

What I Wore...A Snippet

Saturday I styled && creative directed a shoot for PrimetimeX magazine. It's finally starting to feel like Fall so I wanted a stylish outfit that would keep my warm.

Out && About

I had a few things to handle on Friday so when I got dressed I wanted a comfortable yet stylish outfit. I put on a sleeveless denim that I made myself paired it with gray jeans && a simple black wedge. I added a silver spiked bracelet, my Michael Kors Hamilton tote (which I've been wearing for weeks now ._.) and a pair of black and silver cross earrings which are my new favorite accessory.

I love being recognized for my style and nothing is more awesome than someone deciding that your style is amazing enough for them to feature you on their blog! :)

Back in July, I was in Little Five Points doing a bit of shopping when I was asked to take a picture because the guy liked my outfit.

I posed, got his card and then completely forgot about my feature. However, here today I was asked about whether or not I saw the post from one of my friends who was with me and then I decided to go check it out. Here's a link to the article as well as a picture of the outfit I was wearing:

A Piece of Reese

On this day I had to go to court for a traffic ticket >_> && I had a few other errands to run with my friends. I wanted a simple, comfortable outfit that still had a chic spin on it.

I wore that shorts that I got during my five-day apprenticeship with Tracy Reese && I loved how they classed up my plain white tank.
