Living Young, Wild & Carefree

It's no secret that I love working with Dior. There's always tons of energy at our shoots. We are constantly laughing, cracking jokes, and just having fun doing what we love.

This past Sunday we had a shoot in this big field that I always pass on the way to one of my friend's houses. We had to postpone the shoot for hours and then we had to cut it early due to inclement weather. However, despite that AND the fact that we were mosquito prey for about an hour, we managed to squeeze in two looks and get some amazing shots!

Check out a few snapshots below:

This is a shot of Dior when she first put the button down on. I loved the sexiness and crispness of the oversize white button down and gold chains against her skin but something was off. I simply rolled up the sleeves of the button down and voila! I had the perfect, carefree look that was perfect for the scenery.

The Lyftd Lyfe Fashion Show

I think life is all about the journey, about setting goals for yourself and taking the steps to achieve those goals. Well, last summer after The Goods Lyfe fashion show, I said that I would be working backstage/ styling at this year's fashion show. After exchanging a few e-mails with one of the coordinators behind the show, I was told that I would be able to work backstage!

I mainly worked on The Good's Clo's set. I had tons of fun but it was definitely a lot of pressure. I got to style in some pieces from The RAD! Shop and some of my friends came out to support which is always great!

I have already set a new goal for next year's fashion show! I'll definitely keep you guys posted on whether or not I achieve it.

The story behind my outfit that night is funny. I had originally selected a cut-out dress to wear but I felt like it was a little too revealing for the fashion show. After one of my guy friends confirmed my suspicions with a round of good-natured, very explicit but still funny jokes, I decided to change. The problem was, I wasn't home and didn't have time to go home. So I ran to my trunk (which due to my photo shoots always has clothing and/or shoes in it) and selected this black jumpsuit. I put on tons of bracelets and cuffs to jazz up my left arm, pulled stacks of rings on my right hand and added a belt and this ended up looking like the outfit I had intended to wear all along. A last minute outfit that gets you tons of compliments? We have a winner!

The RAD! Swimsuit Shoot

On Thursday, I had a photo shoot for the swimsuits that will be available for sale in my boutique, The RAD! Shop!

This was my third time working with the model, Dior. She's so beautiful and sweet and she's so goofy that the shoots never feel that long or have a dull moment lol.

I did a little bit of styling work, but not too much because this shoot was more about showcasing the swimsuits.

Check out some photos below:

Cassie x Forever 21

Cassie has been on a roll lately! After the release of her new mixtape, RockaBye Baby which featured artists such as Rick Ross and Wiz Khalifa, it has been announced that she is now the face of Forever 21!

Forever 21 provides affordable apparel for the fashionista in all of us, and I have been a little impressed with their Spring 2013 collection.

Check out Cassie wearing some looks from the new collection below:

Do Work

So this past Thursday, I styled a shoot at Piedmont Park with an up and coming model named Dior. She was so gorgeous and full of energy and I had so much fun at the shoot that it definitely did not feel like work!

The shoot was outside and had a Spring theme, so I made sure to incorporate bright prints, neons, and tons of strappy sandals into the shoot.

Check out the three looks I created below:

Match the intensity of a boldly-printed dress with colorful sandals.

When mixing prints, make sure the prints have at least one color in common so you look trendy, not tacky.

Neons look great when paired with neutrals and minimal jewelry.

NYFW F'W 2013 (Days 1 and 2)

NYFW has begun and designers are showing off their Fall/ Winter 2013 collections. Leather and fur will still be trends this upcoming season but you can expect to see a lot of other textures and fabrics such as suede and even satin.

My favorite collections so far have been Kate Spade (I loved her bright, girly and chic clothing!), Balmain, Jason Wu, and Charlotte Ronson!

Check out my favorites from those collections as well as looks from Cushnie et Ochs:

Kate Spade

Kate Spade used tons of bright colors to design her F'W 2013 collection. You can find leather gloves in red and pink (how fun is that??), and satchels and clutches in bright colors, animal prints, and metallics. Although her collection is girly and chic, a few looks have an androgynous feel to them as witnessed by the collared button down and the cropped printed pants with the leather jacket. Kate Spade has an amazing F'W collection, her use of color will definitely set her collection apart from the rest.

Balmain

Balmain has been at the forefront of the fashion world for years and this collection definitely was not a disappointment. Sheer blouses, cropped pants, belted jackets, and mesh tights all came together to form a collection that had the perfect amount of edginess and chicness which will probably endear this collection to many people as it has something for everyone.

Jason Wu

Ahh Jason Wu, since I first started following his career, he has yet to disappoint me with one of his collections. This collection had it all, from funky prints, peek-a-boo blouses, and flowy dresses to structured blazers and jackets. Mr. Wu did not stick to the common F'W color palette of black, brown, and gray. Like Kate Spade, he also used color, including red and a beautiful royal blue. This collection showcases his talent and gives insight into why he's a favorite of FLOTUS, Michelle Obama.

Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson's collection had me in complete awe! From the first look (which gave me a toned down Freddy Krueger feel) to the mesh shirt and prim leather skirt in the second, to the structured blazer and cropped pants in the combo there was literally something for everyone! If you value comfort over chicness, you can turn to her fashionable yet comfortable sweaters, daring fashionistas will love her leather minidresses, and even the most modest girl can find a piece they'll love in her very ladylike A-line dresses.

Cushnie et Ochs

Cushnie et Ochs delivered an amazing collection! The use of different shapes, some dresses/skirts were very fitted and structured while some were loose and simply flowed with the model that was showcasing them. Daring splits, bold prints, and sexy cutouts made every single piece of this collection a must have in ANY fashionista's closet!
